Registry Changes - Ceasing Plates on Total Loss

Once the totaled vehicle title is transferred to the Insurance Company the RMV ceases the plates. If the customer wants to keep their plate to transfer it to a new vehicle, they have to call the registry at 1-857-368-7515 to release the flag. Please call the office with any questions relating to this change made by the Registry of Motor Vehicles.

Avoid Mailing Checks to Carriers

Reasons to avoid mailing checks to carriers:

Checks getting Lost or Stolen: Mailing checks carries the risk of them being lost or stolen during transit. Criminals can take advantage of this vulnerability by altering the payee's name or payment amount, leading to potential financial losses and fraud. Additionally, postal carriers may inadvertently misplace or deliver the checks to the wrong address, causing further complications and delays.

Time Delays: The reliability of the United States Postal Service (USPS) turnaround time cannot always be guaranteed. Unforeseen events such as adverse weather conditions or travel interruptions can lead to delays in check delivery. The staffing shortages are also accounting for many of the delays. As a result, your payment may not reach the intended recipient on time, potentially resulting in late fees or other penalties.

 What to do instead:

Explore Secure Alternatives: To avoid the risks associated with mailing checks, it is best to consider alternative payment methods that offer enhanced security and efficiency. One option is to make payments by phone, directly contacting your carrier to process the transaction securely. Alternatively, many carriers provide online payment links on their websites, allowing you to conveniently submit payments online.

By opting for these secure and expedient alternatives, you can ensure timely and safe transactions, minimizing the chances of fraud or payment delays. For a comprehensive list of carrier contact numbers and their respective online payment portals, please visit our website for further details. Your financial security and peace of mind are our priorities, and we strive to provide the best payment options to meet your needs.
